VOLUNTEERING IN THAILAND : MEET LOCAL FARMERS

 

Thailand is now well known for its touristic attractions, but there are still rural areas of the country that are dedicated to farming. This experience is a way out of the usual order and highlights events on the land of local cultivators in the Thachang area. Thai agriculture is also a political challenge. The sector is supported by subsidies that allow farmers to live of their work.

 

Your missions on site

Attendants work 4 to 5 hours a day. They learn all the stages of the banana cultivation, from planting to harvesting.

Daily missions include many tasks:

  • leaf cutting
  • preparation of the goods for sale
  • watering
  • soil fertilization
  • harvesting

 

Your accommodation during your stay

In the province of Singburi, about 140km from Bangkok, the camp is located in an isolated part of Thailand. Only a few travelers have a chance to visit it. Participants are accommodated in full board in rooms equipped for 4 persons maximum.

Dates of stay and organization

The program is open all year long.

You will be welcomed on Sunday at Bangkok International Airport and accompanied to our partner's reception center in the Thachang area.

In the closest village to the center, you will find automatic cash dispensers, a pharmacy, a doctor, shops and discover the local food markets.

Your registration

Prices:

185€ per week + 23€ annual membership + 150€ administrative fee per registration.

You can register for as many weeks as you want. Administrative fee are due only once.

 

Conditions of eligibility:

  • to be over 18 years old
  • to have a personal passport valid at least 6 months after your return
  • to have a good level of English (B1)
  • to get a tourist visa before departure, if necessary

 

Not included in the program :

  • international flights costs
  • visa fees*
  • medical insurance
  • personal expenses
Visa, currency and time difference
  • Thai currency: Baht - THB 1 euro = 35 Bahts
  • Time difference: +6 hours in winter, +5 hours in summer
  • Visa information: for a stay of less than 30 days, no visa is required. It's possible to extend on site for another 30 ays (once).
